Our servers use NVMe disks and NGINX, so your site starts ahead. These settings make it even faster.
1. Use a modern PHP version
- In cPanel open MultiPHP Manager (or Select PHP Version).
- Choose PHP 8.2 or newer for your domain. It is up to 3× faster than PHP 7.
- Check your site. If a very old plugin fails, update it or go back to the previous version.
2. Turn on caching
A cache stores your generated pages and serves them instantly.
- Install a cache plugin such as WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache or WP Fastest Cache and enable page caching.
- If cPanel shows NGINX Caching, you can clear the server cache there after making changes.
3. Optimise images
Heavy images are the number one cause of slowness.
- Upload images at the size they are shown (not a 4000 px photo for an 800 px box).
- Use a plugin that compresses them and converts to WebP (for example Smush, EWWW Image Optimizer or ShortPixel).
- Keep lazy loading on; WordPress includes it.
4. Less is more
- Deactivate and delete plugins you do not use: each one adds load.
- Prefer lightweight themes (GeneratePress, Astra or Kadence) over themes full of features you never use.
- Check with PageSpeed Insights which resource weighs the most.
5. Optional: a CDN
If your visitors are in several countries, a CDN such as Cloudflare (free) serves your files from the place closest to each visitor.
